Newstead Business - Panel Discussion

Business in Newstead
Panel: Doug Bell, Melissa Proposch, Genevieve Barlow, Ron Snep
Welshmans Reef Winery, 29 March, 3:30 pm
Our panel of Newstead business people - by order of first name

The series of Rocket Science sessions supported financially by Mount Alexander Shire continues - this is the 8th session and looks at Newstead Business. This was the 7th priority in the Community Plan - "Developing a local business strategy for Newstead to build business and employment opportunities"

The  four panellists will introduce themselves and talk a little about their experience of doing business in Newstead. Comments and questions from the floor will lead to the usual healthy Rocket Science discussion. A couple of pump-priming topics might be:

  • The idea of a business incubator building where you might have your first ever office for your brand new business
  • The effect of the NBN on business in Newstead

Doug Bell and Liz were the proprietors of the Red Store until recently and he is now starting up his own training company - Red Store Training

Genevieve Barlow is a free lance journalist - you can read her Miranda column each week in the Herald Weekly Times. She is also Chair of the Maldon and District Community Bank board.

Melissa Proposch, and Steve, run Trouble Magazine - a local compendium of the arts.

Ron Snep and Julia Elkins run Welshmans Reef Winery but he is also vice-chair of Business Mount Alexander which may be a beacon for Business Newstead.
